Rachel and I went to Barnes and Noble last night for American Girl night. There were so many little girls there with their dolls! I finally got to see a real Samantha and real Nellie! Nicolle wanted to go, but fell asleep before we left because she has an ear infection. Poor kid. =(
I learned my lesson though to only take one doll at a time. It was hard to help Rachel with her crafts because I had coats and two dolls to keep track of (Felicity and Stacy), plus my nose wouldn't stop running. I hate being sick and it made it not as fun. But I'm sure next month will be more fun because I plan on feeling better by that time. =)
The kids worked on cross stitching, braiding, had a manners lesson, and a snack of cookies and kool-aid. The best part for me though was seeing all the different dolls close up. There were so many kids there! They had a drawing for an American Girl Christmas ornament (Kirsten) but Rachel didn't win. She was disappointed because she loves Kirsten but she knew there were a lot of names so her chances weren't very good.
I did buy a few books before I left the store. I bought the last Felicity book so that series is complete. I plan on reading that this afternoon. I also bought the rest of the Addy series and will read all those when I'm finished with the Kirsten books Rachel and I are working on. (Or should I read Samantha's books next?) Right now Nicolle is reading the Addy books so I'll wait for her to finish. The girl is so far ahead of me on these books. Not fair! Eh, but I had to spend the morning scrubbing floors so that's my excuse.
